Cartagena – Our Beachfront Apartment

We flew to Cartagena on Monday evening on discount airline Viva Air. They claim to have one of the newest fleets in the world. The flight was just over an hour; smooth and uneventful, just the way I like them. They don’t use the indoor bridge walkways so we were hit with a wall of humidity when we reached the stairs to disembark. Viva has an interesting way of deplaning. They make everyone stay seated when the plane is at the gate and call on rows 5 rows at a time. Surprisingly everyone obeyed and stayed put but I’m not it was anymore efficient then everyone getting up at once.

We took a cab the 20 min ride to the Bocagrande area of Cartagena which is a bit of a touristy area. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for our 11 day stay and it’s right on the beach. We were on the 23rd floor and the views were amazing.
