After lunch it was time to check into the Airbnb, which was a 2 min walk fro the restaurant. After a 10 min wait, our place was ready to check in. It was located on the 2nd floor of a busy retail street. And it was very quirky, to say the least.
One bedroom had a window into the living room. The beds in both room were only doubles and they only had sheets, no blankets. There were two bathrooms: the main had a shower with a missing shower head and there was no hot water, as in no hot water plumbed into the apartment at all. The other bathroom was even stranger. The door to get in had you walk directly into the shower. You then step out of the shower to the right, to get to the toilet. And the couches in the photos look great but comfy they were not. But we weren’t there to spend a lot of time. It was a place to stay so we could get the park entrance early the next day. And it didn’t hurt that the place only cost $44 CAD for the night…total.

After dropping our luggage in the apartment we headed towards the water, which was conveniently only a block away. We wandered along the beachfront and made it to a quieter section. Jennifer and Owen went for a swim while Eduardo and I sorted out our bus ride home the following day because we hadn’t actually booked anything yet. It took a few tries via internet and eventually a couple a phone calls to get the reservations. By then, Jennifer and Owen finished their swim and headed back to have a quick shower. Eduardo and I walk around the tourist shops for a bit then I got tired of that and went back to the apartment too.

We eventually all met up again about an hour later at an outdoor food truck festival not far from our place. Owen and Jennifer discovered it so we met up with them for a meal. Everything at the festival was 15,000 pesos which is roughly $5…a super bargain. Eduardo and I split a lasagna and I think Jennifer and Owen had burgers.
Shortly we headed back to the apartment. Jennifer and Owen headed out for one drink and a visit to the casino. Being 18, he can’t visit casinos in BC yet but in Colombia he’s allowed. Eduardo and I stayed behind and went to bed since it would be another early morning tomorrow.
It would end up being a very long night. The apartment windows were single pane glass and I could hear music and horns blaring all night until 4am. Then there was 2 hours of peace before the music started again at 6am.
