Petronas Twin Tower and Modern Foot Bridge

After a delicious breakfast in the hotel lounge, we started our day at the Petronas Twin Towers. Petronas Twin Towers were once the tallest buildings in the world. Now the world’s tallest twin structures, the 88-storey buildings were designed by Cesar Pelli & Associates with both towers joined at the 41st and 42nd floors (175m above street level) by a 58 metre...

Street Art

After lunch but before the market in Chinatown, we stumbled across a street art area so we made a stop to create some content for Eduardo’s Instagram account.

KL Tower and China Town

A short walk from the Eco Park was KL Tower. We didn’t bother going up as we’d be going up other towers later. It was past lunch time so we were hungry. We took another Grab vehicle to the Chinatown area and found a Thai restaurant. Chinatown is also the area of the large market street called Petaling Street so we did some wandering around for a little shopping...

KL Eco Park Canopy Walk

After spending close to 2 hours at the caves, we ordered another Grab car and headed to the KL Eco Park. Grab is basically the Asian version of Uber. Car rides that are 15-20 minutes long are costing us $5 CAD or less, saving us money and time wasted working through the transit system. The thing about using these ride share services is that you sometimes need to...

Batu Caves

Jet lag was allowing us to get an early start on our sightseeing. We were awake around 4am which gave us plenty of time to get ready, have breakfast at 6am and be on our way to our first stop, the Batu Caves around 8am. Just outside the main gate of this Hindu temple were a bunch of flower stands that Eduardo couldn’t resist visiting. You’ll see his purchase in the...

The Hotel

We are staying at the Doubletree Hotel in Kuala Lumpur for 3 nights. After using some Hilton points and upgrading to the executive floor so we could take advantage of the free breakfast and afternoon drinks and snacks, the room came out to about $100 a night. We’re on the 33rd floor of 34 floors and although we don’t have a view of the Petronas Towers, it’s still...

Singapore Airport

The next morning we had to checkout by 9am but our flight to Malaysia wasn’t until 12:50pm so we had time to walk through the newest part of Singapore’s Changi Airport called the Jewel. The centrepiece of the Jewel is the huge indoor waterfall. Also, at the top of the complex was a canopy park filled with flowers and trees. And until the end of March the canopy...

On the Road Again

We set off for a 15 day adventure to Malaysia, India and Nepal. Isn’t definitely not going to be relaxing as we have a lot of adventures packed into 2 weeks. We left Vancouver at 8:30am on Wednesday morning for our first stop…Seattle. The flight deal was out of Seattle so we took a frequent flyer point flight to get started. At 12:20pm, we were officially on...

Last Day – Flight Home

Our flight home wasn’t until 6pm so we had a few hours to do some final sightseeing. There was another temple a short subway ride away so we decided to take a look. Unfortunately we didn’t realize that Shanghai Marathon was on that morning. When we exited the subway station, we were met with a closed road full of runners. There was no way to get across...

The Bund at Night

After our day at Tongli, we headed back to the Bund to check out the light show. At 7pm, the lights on the buildings across the river light up!
