One of our last places to visit on this trip is the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Unfortunately for me, there were a couple places called Our Lady of Guadalupe and I picked the wrong one for our Uber drive to take us. We ended up driving 30 minutes the wrong way. When we arrived we had to double check the address and get our driver to take us to the correct site. Luckily the cost of Uber in Mexico is cheap so the whole one hour journey only cost $15 CAD.
The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a Roman Catholic church, basilica and National shrine of Mexico in the north of Mexico City. The shrine was built near the hill of Tepeyac where Our Lady of Guadalupe is believed to have appeared to Saint Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin.
The new Basilica houses the original cloak of Juan Diego, which holds the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. One of the most important pilgrimage sites of Catholicism, the basilica is visited by several million people every year, especially around 12 December, Our Lady of Guadalupe’s Feast Day.

Beautiful pictures of The Lady!!
