About 20 minutes away from the Big Buddha was Chalong Temple. It’s really three temples in the one complex.
The most important of the 29 buddhist temples of Phuket is Chalong Temple, located in the Chalong district in Phuket. It is dedicated to two highly venerable monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, who led the citizens of Chalong Subdistrict fighting against the Chinese rebellion in 1876 and with their knowledge of herbal medicine helped the injured.
We were getting hungry at this point so he asked our driver to take us to a restaurant he recommends. It turned out to be about 2 min from the temple. Eduardo has shrimp pad thai and I had green curry. Both were excellent.
Makes it easy to tour when there are no crowds. Looks really great with such vivid colourd.
