Lunch with Dalyce

Met up with Dalyce and Randy at Tower Bridge. Dalyce used to sit behind me at Raymond James until she decided to retire and move with Randy on a work exchange program. We met up at the Starbucks just under the bridge for a coffee and a warm up from the chilly wind then headed over the bridge to Pizza Express. It was great to catch up and hear about all their...

London Baby!

We’re finally here. It was a long, tough haul to get from Heathrow to our apartment. The Picadilly line of the underground was having maintenance on it, so we had to change to an express shuttle bus to Hammersmith, then meander our way through a shopping centre to pick up the train line again. Then the trains were absolutely bulging with people. We had 14 stops...

London Bound

We’re on the plane right now en route to London Heathrow Airport. We were about 20 minutes late leaving as they had to assign us a take off slot. It was a weird takeoff. Our taxi across the tarmac consisted of us getting faster and faster to the point that we passed a 747 on a parallel taxi way. Then we cut in front of him and sped up even more. It was like we...

Last full day in Amsterdam

Well our visit to Amsterdam is almost over. Today we went to the Rembrandt House museum. It’s only 5 minutes from our houseboat but we never made it there before today. Rembrandt was not who I thought he was. Turns out he was most famous for sketching and making prints of the sketch, not paintings. The rest of the day we wandered around the parts of the city...

Waffles

A waffle lovers dream! There were little waffle stores all over the city. So good! I had the dark chocolate one. Eduardo had the Nutella one.

Brussels! Fantastic

Brussels was a great city! We spent the first couple hours on the hop on hop off bus. It’s definitely a mix of very modern and very old. Unfortunately because we did the bus tour, we didn’t get too many good photos. The windows and the barriers kept getting in the way. The photos I’ve shared are from the incredible square called Grand Place.

Bathroom Decoration

After a great dinner in the Grand Place square, I decided to go to the washroom before we continued exploring. So I went upstairs to the men’s room and found the urinals. While I was standing there, I looked up and found these ladies on the wall watching me. Hilarious! I had to take a photo.

En Route to Brussels, Belgium

Since we’re so close, we decided to do a day trip to Brussels. We left at 9am this morning and we’ll be there in 2.5 hours, including a brief stop in Rotterdam for a train change. And looks like we got lucky with the weather again as its sunny and warm today.
